They did it to Dean, now they've come for Obama

I'm so depressed right now I could cry.  For 4 years we've worked and hoped that someone could come along and power a campaign with small donataions and big ideas.  We wanted Dean II, but without the crash and flameout.  We came so close with Obama, but the MSM is still too powerful.  I watched the Sunday shows and saw the front page of the post, Obama's pastor has become the scream of 2008.  It is the moment where the media labeled him scary black man, just like they used the scream to make Dean into the guy with the temper problem.  Never mind the fact that McCain has paster problems of his own.  Never mind the fact that he is angry.  I weep beacuase I honestly believe we are out of time.  Another 4 years older, 400ppm and 10 trillion dollars in debt.

They can't do it if we don't let them.  Michel Norris from NPR said on meet the press, something along the lines of this is what a lot of Black people hear when they go to church.  A couple of key differences between Dean and Barack, Dean screamed Barack's pastor yelled,  Dean lost Iowa Barack won Iowa (twice),  Barack has the most votes the most delegates and the most contests won Dean never left the starting gates.  I have been in a depressed funk since I woke up the Monday March 3rd and saw that Hillary was ahead in TX.  But the kitchen sink has hit us and we all still here so lets throw it not at HRC but put it where it belongs in the trash.Hillary is out of time.  This time can be different because this campaign  is different.

Perhaps you're overreacting. (j_wyatt - 3/17/2008 3:23:58 PM)
The hullabaloo is all about Senator Obama's pastor, not Senator Obama.

Yes, it's dinged Senator Obama, but he himself is not the 'scary black man'.  Quite the opposite.

You keep fighting till you cannot fight any longer.  In this regard, we'd  be wise to note the Clinton campaign.  She continues to fight even though she is behind.

I Haven't lost hope - tomorrow is Obama's speech in Philly (VA Breeze - 3/17/2008 10:22:56 PM)
and we know he can give a great talk-so he can be the comeback kid!

(I've heard pastors say worse-just consider a few things Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell have said over the years.)

FYI-one article I read mentioned the speech will be at 10:15 am (VA Breeze - 3/17/2008 10:31:48 PM)

The Establishment (Teddy - 3/18/2008 12:17:20 AM)
of both parties, and the shadowy Super Establishment are known to have planned on having a Clinton vs. McCain race in 2008. It's been the intention since 2004 (and I've read it in various places). Clearly, "they" will do everything in their power to bring it about. When Obama surprisingly popped up and actually looked impressive, garnering votes, the attacks started, help was tendered to Hillary through SNL, "unauthorized" side comments began, the former Swiftboaters revved up, and so on. I am not surprised. If Obama can be neutered, then the re-destruction of Clinton will commence, so her supporters should not be feeling pleased. That's just the way it is.
