Governor Tim Kaine and Richmond Mayor Doug Wilder have hit the campaign trail to rally support for Barack Obama! Kaine is scheduled to make a stop in Texas where polls show Clinton and Obama to be neck and neck.
Kaine will stop in Topeka, Kansas, to deliver the keynote address for a Kansas Democratic Party dinner before heading on to Texas for stops in Galveston and Houston.

Tuesday's primaries in Texas and Ohio are considered pivotal for Obama's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, whom many say must win them in order to keep her presidential bid alive.

Just how close are the polls in Texas? According to Real Clear Politics the latest Rasmussen poll has Obama leading by four percent (48 to 44) while the latest InsiderAdvantage poll shows Clinton leading by four (47 to 43). In Ohio the latest SurveyUSA poll shows Clinton leading 50-44.

Elsewhere, Wilder is in Cincinnati, Ohio to address an NAACP meeting. Also, Tim Kaine is still considered to be a possible candidate for the VP slot were Obama to get the nomination:

Kaine endorsed Obama more than a year ago. Obama has said Kaine would be on his short list for a role in his administration, but Kaine says he intends to serve out his term as governor, which expires in January 2010.
The other day when asked about possibly serving as Vice President for Obama, Kaine said:
"It's nice to be on lists - my mom likes it if I'm on a list," Kaine said, but "I do have a very important job at hand."

It's close in Ohio (phillip123 - 2/29/2008 1:47:28 PM)
A zogby/cspan poll shows Obama down by only 2 points, within the margin of error.  Time to make some calls.
