Happy Birthday to Gov. Tim Kaine, a fine Virginian, and the namesake of this very blog. Born 50 years ago today in St. Paul, MN, he has called Virginia his home for half that time. We wish the Executive of our fine Commonwealth all the best today.

Read up on the life and times of Tim Kaine:

And feel free to use this diary as an open thread for birthday wishes!

Happy Birthday Gov. Kaine. Thank you for your service and leadership. I hope you will consider other ways to serve the Commonwealth after 2009. I suspect Eric Cantor will need a strong challenger in 2010...

They say 50 is the new 30!   As the Irish Blessing goes:

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
