The Ehrlich-Kilgore Parallel Continues

As we pointed out during the recent Virginia gubernatorial campaign, Jerry Kilgore had a friend and soulmate in Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich (R).

First, Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich bashed "multicultaralism" as "crap."  In responses, "Hispanic leaders called the remarks divisive, destructive and shocking.?  Sound familiar (hint:  Kilgore's immigrant bashing and demagoguery on the Herndon Day Laborer site)?

Then, Ehrlich came to Virginia to raise money and campagin for his pal Jerry.

Now, Ehrlich has hired Bo Harmon, a clone of Jerry Kilgore's hired pitbull, Scott "Black Hands Racist Ad" Howell.  According to former U.S. Senator Max Cleland (D-GA), "Four years ago, Mr. Harmon ran the nastiest campaign I have ever seen in 35 years of politics, against me, attacking my patriotism and my integrity."  Does any of this sound at all familiar?

By the way, the Maryland Democratic Party points out some fun parallels between Bob and Jerry:

*Jerry Kilgore gets gobs of campaign dough from giant pharmaceutical companies and has relaxed Virginia?s anti-methamphetamine program and looked the other way while a drug company donor was investigated for Medicaid fraud ? Robert Ehrlich has consistently defended big business against the interests of working families, preventing the minimum wage from increasing to $6.15 per hour and stopping the Fair Share Health Care bill.

* Jerry Kilgore opposed a $1.4 billion education funding package for Virginia schools ? Robert Ehrlich has only done the bare minimum required by law for Maryland schools

* When Jerry Kilgore was public safety chief in Virginia, prison escapes rose 300% -- Robert Ehrlich has understaffed and under funded state prisons, making our State less safe and causing violence among inmates and against correctional officers.

* Jerry Kilgore supports creating regional transportation authorities with the power to raise taxes ? Robert Ehrlich has thrown almost $2 billion in new taxes into the laps of Maryland?s middle class families

Sure sounds like it's about time for this Kilgore clone to say his last hurrahs in Maryland.  Just 11 more months to go...
