Hillary still hold 8 point lead in Ohio (DanG - 2/25/2008 7:33:33 PM)
Clinton will win Ohio, but I bet it'll only be by about 4-5 points.  If Obama can pulls off a win in Texas, either a pure win like this or a delegate victory (entirely possible), then Hillary is going to be in big trouble, especially because Obama is expected to win the Wyoming Caucuses and the Mississippi primary immediately after the fourth.

Going to be? (Evan M - 2/26/2008 5:08:02 PM)
If Obama can pulls off a win in Texas, either a pure win like this or a delegate victory (entirely possible), then Hillary is going to be in big trouble...
Going to be? Let me quote MyDD here on a related question.
Faced with the situation in which Clinton needs to win the remaining contests with about 60 percent or more of the vote from here on out in order to take a lead among the pledged delegates, even a narrow victory in Ohio (particularly if coupled with a loss in Texas) might not be enough for her to realistically stay in the race. - MyDD
Hillary needs overwhelming victories in TX and OH to be relevant going forward. She's out on numbers if she doesn't.

Exactly. (Lowell - 2/26/2008 5:13:31 PM)
If Hillary Clinton doesn't win BOTH Texas and Ohio, her campaign's over.  Right now, it looks like "advantage Obama" in Texas, and closing fast in Ohio. As Charlie Cook wrote earlier today, "game, set and match."

You have nothig to worry about (Newport News Dem - 2/27/2008 12:17:15 AM)
Texas will go Obama for the same reason as many of the victories or margin of victories this month. Republicans in large numbers will turn out to vote in OUR primary to get a thrill to vote against a Clinton. Come November, they will be right back into the GOP camp.

We have such a screwed up system in which right wing republicans will have a huge role in determining the Democratic candidate. Too bad.

Been boycotting sites like RK and Kos for the past month. Just stopped by to check out the debate reaction and will see you again after OUR candidate is chosen, even if chosen by the wrong team.

Yes, because THAT's how Obama is winning (DanG - 2/27/2008 12:32:33 AM)
Obama's winning because it's some big right-wing Clinton hunt.  Couldn't be that he simply has an appealing message, could it?

Can Clinton supporters stop trying to blame their loss on everybody else?  Because in the end, the truth is that the only consistent in every losing campaign is a losing candidate.  Regardless of what happens, Hillary has nobody to blame the troubles of her campaign on but herself.  She chose the staff, she chose the message.  The media is part of any campaign, and you have to take it into account.  You have to take your opponents into account, which she DIDN'T.  Hillary thought she would waltz to the nomination without competition.  That was her biggest mistake.

Yes, Hillary had no message (Hugo Estrada - 2/27/2008 8:06:03 AM)
She had a nice platform, but she had no real message. What is her campaign about?

It's about (KathyinBlacksburg - 2/27/2008 1:06:39 PM)
Clinton restoration.  And that is why it is falling apart.
