Delegate Dave Albo (R-42) has a long history has a long history of working for the alcohol and tobacco lobby in his 12 years in office.  According to VPAP, he's now logged over $164,000 of campaign donations and gifts from the alcohol and tobacco industry.

So why should we be surprised when he helped kill over twelve anti-smoking bills this year and suggested that a "compromise" could be had if Virginia just loosened up its regulations on bars (alcohol consumption).  All this while pushing legislation to expand his abuser fees and expand mandatory punishments on DWIs.

What about Dan Bowling? (heywaitaminute - 2/21/2008 3:27:23 PM)
The sub-committee vote to kill all smoking ban legislation was unanimous so none of those scoundrels should get off the hook.  But, wait a minute, Democrat Dan Bowling is quoted in a paper in his district as saying that the Republican Caucus made him vote to kill the legislation and that he had no choice. Now I know that Republicans caused global warming, laugh when puppies are on fire, hate trees and green stuff (except money of course) and conspired to kidnap the Lindberg kid, but they are now making Democrats in the Virginia General Assembly adhere to Republican Caucus positions? I don't know that the Republican Caucus took such a position on the bill but if it did,how did Dan fall under their rule? Either Dan is clueless (bad) or he won't vote his conscience (badder) or he is making this up (baddest). I realize that partisan blogs don't claim to be fair and balanced, but at least we can say: "I don't get it big Dan" (to quote George Clooney in Oh Brother! Where Art Thou?).
