This seems like a nightmare, but it actually could become a reality: Lt. Governor Corey Stewart?

Mr. Stewart, a Republican, told The Washington Times the job would give him the platform to pressure lawmakers into doing more to crackdown on illegal aliens.

"By running statewide it gives me the bully pulpit to do that," he said.

Key word in that statement: "bully." Enough said.

I hope he runs (Ron1 - 2/14/2008 11:12:55 PM)
Let's drive a stake through the heart of this xenophobe -- and this issue -- ASAP.

If we use 2008 to organize all throughout the state around Barack, Mark, and our congressional candidates in every district, then we'll be primed to take the state leg and the executive positions in toto in '09.

Is Bolling going to run for a second term? (Johnny Longtorso - 2/15/2008 9:17:45 AM)
Imagine that primary. I don't think Virginia can handle that much wingnuttery.

No way (Brian - 2/15/2008 11:17:49 AM)
Bolling will run (and lose) for the Republican Nomination for Gov.

I had to check the calendar to be sure it wasn't April 1st (Barbara - 2/15/2008 1:07:20 PM)
This line in today's Wash Post made me think it must be April Fool's Day:
And now that Davis has decided not to seek reelection, Stewart has declared himself the "preeminent Republican in Northern Virginia."

I'd do almost anything to get this egotistical nut job out of PWC--except maybe this.  Sadly, he doesn't have to (and most certainly won't) step down as Chairman to run.  I guess Greg L. will be his campaign manager.

I can't wait to get involved in this one.
