We're jealous of VA 's Democratic Party in KY

The Democratic Party in Virginia has made a choice. The country is changing, and they challenged the people of their party and state to join them.

And they have. With great success. I look at Raising Kaine every day and marvel at what they've been able to accomplish in Virginia. Their Democratic Party has been lead by honest and competent leadership, and they have completely transformed Virginia into a legitimate BLUE state.

Meanwhile in Kentucky....

...our Democratic Party sits idley by while its redneck delegation passes legislation designating gays as second class citizens, making women patients endure Clockwork Orange style viewing of ultrasounds, allows mountains to be destroyed and neighboring communities devastated, pushes forward with boondoggle "clean coal" scams that will continue to destroy our atmosphere, and worst of all- cut backroom deals with big money donors to give the most corrupt Senator in D.C. another 6 years in office. Money, power and graft is ALL they care about. Tell me I'm wrong...

Sickening.

(by the way, I think I'm back in writing mode, so expect a ruthless, irresponsible and depraved blow-torching of everyone responsible for the Lunsford debacle very soon. No one will be spared. It'll be fun reading, I swear.)

(Also, your input here at Raising Kaine on a way forward for us would be much appreciated)

well done! (Scripple - 2/14/2008 4:31:19 PM)
This is as good an opportunity as any to say great job done by everyone -- from the party activists and local committees, to the elected officials and DPVA staff.  Keep up the good work!

Hi MediaCzech (Ron1 - 2/14/2008 5:35:56 PM)
I'm very much interested into why Andrew Horne (and even Crit Luallen earlier) decided to forgo a run for the Senate. I'm really crossing my fingers that there's a way to get some non-establishment hack to challenge the execrable Mitch.

As to what KY can do to start the process going, I'd urge you to get in touch with Lowell and Rob, et al. -- they are the guys that put all of this together.

But it seems like there are bright spots in Kentucky, what with Yarmuth in '06 and the Governor's race last year.

Schumer and the KY Dem establishment... (MediaCzech - 2/14/2008 6:03:01 PM)
...forced Horne out of the race so we can run a millionaire DINO against McConnell.  He's going to get massacred. The race has basically been conceded, and the deadline to file is over.

depressing, yes...
