Another Democrat Against Goodlatte

This is interesting news:

The name Drew Richardson is one that I've heard thrown around for months in discussions about the current state of the Democratic Party's attempts to select a candidate to challenge Bob Goodlatte in the Sixth Congressional District. Last night, I got an email that all but confirmed Mr. Richardson's status as an official candidate.  As a Democrat in the Sixth District, I couldn't be happier. Here in the Sixth, The Party hasn't been represented on the ballot since 1998 and this year we have, not one, but two candidates gunning for Goodlatte's seat.

So, we now have two Democratic candidates -- Sam Rasoul and now Drew Richardson -- to take on Bob Goodlatte in the sixth CD.  That's great news in my opinion.  May the best Democrat win!

The LDC met w/ Mr. Richardson a week ago. He is articulate, smart and has a great bio. He will make a fine candidate.
Here's the situation: Sam Rasoul, young and inexperienced has worked his butt off for a year attending Dem. committeee meetings, fund raisers, raising money and canvassing for other candidates, winning the Grassroots award from the Sixth District leadership and now Mr. Richardson throws his hat into the ring. It's certainly Mr. Richardson's right BUT if he was SO impassioned to run ( which I am not convinced he is) I wish he had decided earlier.
Good luck winning folks over. Best of luck to both candidates!

Martha, I completely agree with you. Sam Rasoul has been fighting day in and day out for the citizens of our district. We are ready for change and SAM RASOUL is the best candidate to bring it! He is fresh on the scene, he refuses to take money from lobbyists and PACs. Congressman Goodlatte in a recent newsletter, while not using Sam's name directly, acknowledged our presence in this race. I believe Sam will win the nomination in April. It will be very hard for Mr. Richardson to catch up. I respect Mr. Richardson's decision but I think it is just a little bit too late.

VOTE FOR SAM RASOUL FOR CONGRESS VA-6th
