Thanks to Jim Southworth for his great work on this.  Jim says, "Due to high winds and a power outage, we were delayed posting these videos, but all Videos are finally uploaded and processed on Google. Please disseminate these to all mailing lists so that as many voters can get this information before election day Tuesday."

Great Videos (Liberal Pi - 2/11/2008 5:36:59 AM)
Superior audio quality, and great video capturing what was truly a historic night for Democratic Party of Virginia.

Jim Southworth's a pro (Lowell - 2/11/2008 6:36:49 AM)
Definitely glad he's a Democrat and not on the other side! :)

A couple of minor points about the JJ speeches (Randy Klear - 2/11/2008 2:03:15 PM)
First, it was a pleasant surprise to see Lisa Collis on stage introducing Mark Warner. I don't remember seeing her actually speak at a campaign event before, even in 2001. Then again, my memory isn't the greatest.

Second, I thought Clinton came off much better in person than she does on TV. It may have been partly the content, which put less emphasis on sharpening distinctions than she usually does. I was impressed by the way her peroration built emotionally toward the climax where she asked for support...

...and then out it came -- "so PLEASE go to hillaryclinton.com...."  The emotional moment evaporated completely (for me, at least) with those words. I don't fault her for this; it's just that pushing a web site can never come across as anything but selling. It's something candidates seem to be forced to add to their stump speeches, but they really need to think carefully about where and how they bring it up. It can be really deflating in the wrong place.

Same thing happened to me (elevandoski - 2/11/2008 8:39:35 PM)
I was going alone with it, but then that website mention and like you said... Poof! It was gone.

Hillary Clinton wisely knows that you can only say so much in a (Dianne - 2/11/2008 9:00:59 PM)
speech.  I think it was quite wise of her to tell those listening that they can learn more by visiting her website.

If you'd actually like to learn the specifics about how she would like to lead the country (rather than take for truth some of what you read here), I'd suggest that you visit this link and read the specifics of her plans for this country.

The thousands of U Mary Washington students who listened today to Bill Clinton describe in specifics and in detail, Senator Clinton's history, record, and plans were enthralled.  There was no "fluff", no preaching, no appealing to the spiritual self, no "gimmicks" from Bill Clinton.  And unlike Michelle Obama's mean-spirited, party-dividing comment that she'd have to think about supporting Senator Clinton if she were the nominee, Bill Clinton spoke well and kindly of Barack Obama.

And as I walked out I heard some of the students talking about Senator Clinton and how they now were convinced that she had the experience and had brought incredible change!  Even a McCain supporter (majoring in political science) sitting beside me said she'd probably now vote for Senator Clinton after hearing her story in more detail. She won't be sorry.

Where is Clinton's Speech? (thegools - 2/13/2008 1:39:32 PM)
