Obama to Embark on "Stand for Change" Tour Across Commonwealth  

RICHMOND, VA - U.S. Sen. Barack Obama will criss-cross Virginia in the days leading up to the Potomac Primary, making stops in Richmond, Alexandria, Virginia Beach and Roanoke to talk directly to voters about his plans to bring people together to deliver change we can believe in.

Obama will hold a Sunday "Stand for Change" town hall event at TC Williams High School in Alexandria, a rally in Virginia Beach and a Monday morning town hall in Roanoke. (Details on the Roanoke event will be announced soon.) He will also be attending tomorrow night's Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner in Richmond.

Actor Kal Penn and Gov. Tim Kaine's Son to Headline Students for Obama College Tour

RICHMOND, VA - Actor Kal Penn and Gov. Timothy M. Kaine's son, Nat, will headline a Students for Barack Obama College Tour Saturday, visiting George Mason University, the University of Virginia, and the University of Richmond.  The tour will highlight Obama's vision for fundamentally changing Washington to make progress on the toughest issues that face us and the pivotal role young people can play in helping to make that change.

Penn currently appears in the FOX medical drama House, and last year, he had a recurring role in 24. He is probably best known for his breakout role in Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle.  This spring, he will serve as a visiting professor of Asian American Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.

Nat Kaine, the governor's eldest son, is a senior at Maggie Walker High School in Richmond. Governor Kaine was the first statewide elected official outside Illinois to endorse Senator Obama.

I RVSP'd to go (I'm still going early) and told two of my friends who are also Obama supporters about it.  They are both planning on coming.  This will be my first time seeing Obama in-person.  I'm very excited and can't wait until I can vote on Tuesday.  Virginia for Obama!!!

HARRISONBURG, VA - Dr. Susan Rice, senior foreign policy adviser for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's campaign, will visit Harrisonburg and Charlottesville tomorrow to talk about Obama's plan to restore America's standing on the world stage and protect the country.

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Obama has fought to strengthen America's position in the world. Obama has worked to bring people together, regardless of party affiliation, in order to tackle problems such as preventing the spread of weapons of mass destruction and stopping the genocide in Darfur.

A frequent guest on MSNBC, Rice was the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs in Bill Clinton's administration. She has degrees from Stanford and Oxford.

Pulitzer Prize Winner Samantha Power to Stump in Northern Virginia for Obama

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Pulitzer Prize winner Samantha Power, a senior foreign policy adviser to U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's campaign, will kick off a canvass in Falls Church Saturday morning and headline a town hall with renowned law professor Cass Sunstein in Fredericksburg. Together they will discuss Obama's plan to restore American leadership on the world stage and decrease the risk of terrorism by attacking global poverty, upholding the rule of law and rebuilding international cooperation.

Power is Harvard's Anna Lindh Professor of Global Leadership and Public Policy. She won the Pulitzer for her book "A Problem from Hell": America and the Age of Genocide, and she was the founding director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard University.

Sunstein is a law professor at the University of Chicago, where Obama taught Constitutional law. He has testified before congressional committees on many subjects and has been involved in constitution-making and law reform activities in a number of nations, including Ukraine, Poland, China, South Africa, and Russia. Sunstein is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and vice-chair of the ABA Committee on Separation of Powers and Governmental Organizations.

He's a member of the Department of Political Science as well as the Law School. He is author of many articles and a number of books, including Constitutional Law, Democracy and the Problem of Free Speech (1993), Why Societies Need Dissent (2003) and The Second Bill of Rights (2004).
