AS YOU CONSIDER WHOM TO VOTE FOR, CONSIDER THIS PART II

I have some thoughts concerning Ken's original post and the notion of the Clintons being responsible for Democratic Party losses in the 90s.

It should be noted that the Dems in the House & Senate get plenty of blame for our losses in the 90s.  Having said that, however,

Obama is the better Party builder.
Obama is the better Party builder.

He has already demonstrated that with his amazing campaign. And it just keeps getting better!   He has  an organizing background.

I believe that Obama will be much more interested in doing what is best for the Democratic Party in the long term than any recent Democratic leader.

Look at the way he built his campaign and just imagine him finding folks with similar dedication to go to work for the Democratic Party.  It is an extraordinary opportunity.   I hope we don't miss it.

I would note that Clintons bear a large part (teacherken - 2/2/2008 7:37:44 PM)
of the responsibility.   So does the DLC.  So do many in the House and Senate.

My point in making the post was not to place all blame on the Clintons.  But when the Clinton campaign wants to cite as a reason for why Hillary should get the nomination her experience in those 8 of the thirtyfive years of experience she waves, I think it is reasonable to look at ALL the results of those 8 years, including their impact upon the fortunes of the Democratic party.

THE KEY POINT (Lee Diamond - 2/2/2008 8:21:41 PM)
The key point is that from a Party organizational standpoint, Obama is by far the best choice.  That assumes, of course, we're talking about the best choice for Democrats and not for special interests or powerful players within the Party.    Obama has demonstrated a lack of selfishness throughout his career.
