Nice endorsement for Hillary in a very close state...

Democratic nominee: Clinton is better prepared

By The Denver Post

Tim Rasmussen, The Denver Post

The following endorsement will be published in Sunday's Denver Post in the Perspective section.

When Democrats gather in Denver in August to nominate their candidate for president of the United States, they will make history by nominating someone other than a white male for the nation's highest office.

Whether the oldest political party (with roots dating back to Thomas Jefferson) chooses the first African-American or the first woman to bear its standard, it will send a powerful message that the promise of "liberty and justice for all" truly does mean all Americans.

But as important as that symbolism is, Democrats have an even greater responsibility: to pick the most qualified candidate to lead America at a time when it faces great challenges at home and abroad.

Measured by her long record in public life and her thoughtful proposals to deal with America's most pressing problems, The Post believes that candidate is New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Newspapers mean jack sh*t (DanG - 2/1/2008 4:36:38 PM)
The Des Moines register endorsed Hillary.  She got crushed.  ALL the New Hampshire papers endorsed Obama.  He lost.  Most Nevada papers endorsed Obama.  He lost.  The only state where the newspapers and the voters have been on the same page was SC.

My..my...kiss your mom with that mouth ?... (SaveElmer - 2/1/2008 4:44:57 PM)
In fact Hillary received the endorsement of the Concord Monitor and the Las Vegas Sun, whereas Obama received the endorsement of the Las Vegas Review...the paper every Democrat loves to hate...with the following clarion call to follow Obama's banner of change (whatever that is):

Is Barack Obama, then, the ideal Democratic candidate for president? Hardly. His policy recommendations -- when he can be convinced to get any more specific than "I represent change" -- are the opposite of "change." They're old-line, welfare-state solutions that haven't spent enough time in the microwave to appear even superficially appetizing.

Funny how every Obama endorsement is received with plaintive cries of hallelujah...while those that Hillary receives get the DanG treatment...

Wonder why that is?

I agree that this is a signfiicant (Lowell - 2/1/2008 5:09:37 PM)
endorsement.  The latest polling from Colorado had Obama surging, so we'll see if this slows the momentum.

To your question SaveElmer (soccerdem - 2/2/2008 4:01:07 PM)
you said:  "Funny how every Obama endorsement is received with plaintive cries of hallelujah...while those that Hillary receives get the DanG treatment...

Wonder why that is?"  We know why.

How about this question:  Will Obama RKers be WORKING for Hillary if she's the nominee?  By the comments I've seen here, some say they will vote for her but haven't seen where they'd work for her or have I missed those comments.

thanks for the info.
