The Inimitable McCamy Taylor Opines on the Corporate Media

Democratic Undergrounds Journal-writer McCamy Taylor is one of the best writers around.  And I encourage those of you who don't read his work to check in there every now and then.  But this journal by McCamy is a must-read:

McCamy presents some of the pervasive lies and some of the primary offenders in the MSM.  These include "Tweety" (most of you know whom I mean), and Pat Buchanon.  The ubiquitous presence of this guy is a really bad sign on MSNBC.

I know many of us here like Keith Olbermann.  But he's the one shining light through an otherwise cesspool of--how do I put it--sewer rats.  (My words, not McCamy's).
In many ways Hillary Clinton has gotten pretty despicable coverage.  Tweety has tried to take her apart limb by limb.  For much more on this, go to http://mediamatters.org.  I say this as one who vigorously oppose her primary run and strongly propose another's.  And yet, it is important to cut through the media chaff and get to what is real and what is media fabrication.

Who Are They and When Did They Become Them? (oldsoldier - 1/28/2008 4:02:11 PM)
Anymore I get outraged and otherwise aggravated too easily.  What amazes me how political has-beens and failed wanna-be's are hired as "analysts".

Tweety worked for Tip O'Neil and that makes him a know all see all who plays "HARDBALL" BUT only when he is pitching.  Jon Stewart had him at bat and Tweety said it was the WORST Hardball he ever played.

Donna Brazille...Isn't she the campaign director who had Al Gore flip flopping?  Having had a big hand in Gore's loss, why is she still called a "democratic strategist?"

Paul Begala...I could go on and on.  But Kathy, it only matters to those of us who are or soon will be senior citizens as the 18 to 35 demographic loved by advertisers doesn't get its news from the 6 o'clock news or the newspapers.

I wish McClatchy would start a TV news show ala Stewart and Colbert, only making it serious news...then WHOA!  I just had a thought that is really disturbing.  Stewart and Colbert, for all their claiming to be fake news, give us the ONLY REAL NEWS on TV.  I'd like 30 minutes with no commercial interruptions, but I won't live to see it.

That they do. (KathyinBlacksburg - 1/29/2008 10:07:04 AM)
But you have to know the "real news" to get John Stewart a good deal of the time.  PS I am far from the only one in my extended family who loves Stewart and Colbert.  The viewers who love Stewart range in age from the twenties to eighties.

And no, I do not get my news from the 6 oclocks.  I do often monitor them because media watch is an avocation.  But I've said often, you don't learn anything there except a sound bite, a few useless talking points (on so-called news in depth), or even an admin promo.  With Couric's fawning interviews of Bush, Brian William's (right-wing "go-to-guy) friendship with Rush Limbaugh (he says he listens to Rush every day).  He also golfs with him.  Bob Sheiffer has golfed with Bush.  His bro is in the administration.  Charlie Gibson = no better that the others.
