Kilgore's Buddy Bob Ehrlich Goin' Down

As you might recall, during the recent campaign, Jerry Kilgore brought in good friends from all over the country.  People like George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, RNC Chair Ken Mehlman, and Karl Rove.  Whoops, that's right, Karl Rove had a last-minute "scheduling conflict" due to the fact that he's under investigation for possibly revealing the name of a covert CIA operative.  Oh well.

Anyway, one of the out-of-state stars who came to help Jerry Dubya was none other than the friendly Republican governor of our friendly neighbor, Maryland (except in football, basketball, and Potomac River water rights)- Bob Ehrlich.  Well, now it looks like Ehrlich's in trouble in his own re-election contest, with a Rasmussen Poll showing him trailing either of his two main Democratic rivals - Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley (46%-40%) or Montgomery County Excecutive Doug Duncan (48%-39%).  Not looking good, in other words, for good ol' Bob.  Perhaps Jerry Dubya can help him?  You think Kilgore has coattails in Maryland?  Ha ha.

Anyway, I was thinking what we REALLY need is a "Raising Kaine" equivalent for Maryland.  How about "Elevating O'Malley?"  "Drafting Duncan?"  Something like that.  Or, we could just go negative -- not that we'd EVER do such a thing, and start up "Hurling Ehrlich" or "Bye Bye Bob" or whatever.  The possiblities are endless, I'm sure.  And certainly deserved for our immigrant-bashing, friend-of-Jerry across the river.  Maybe we can be as much help to Bob Ehrlich as he was to Jerry Kilgore, whatcha think?  Hey, it worked out so well for Jerry "the Duck" Kilgore, how could it go wrong for Bob "Multiculturalism is crap" Ehrlich?

Just remember, Governor Ehrlich, when things get tough over in Maryland, you've got friends here in Virginia.  We haven't forgotten how helpful YOU were to us in October 2005.  And now, we at Raising Kaine would love to help return the favor.  All you have to do is ask.  E-mail me anytime, at poldir@raisingkaine.com.  I look forward to hearing from ya, Bob!
