Zogby released a new poll today showing Barack Obama jumping to a 19-point lead over Hillary Clinton in South Carolina today.  John Edwards, as well, had made progress as of recent (possibly due to his performance in the debate)  appeared to be making gains amongst voters by the last day of the poll (the night after the debate).  Edwards sits currently at 15%, a number that, unlike Nevada, would reward him delegates at the Convention.  Hillary Clinton still holds a solid lead with voters over 70, but her support amongst African-Americans has fallen to 16%, with Obama holidng 65%.  The rest are undecided.

Hillary Clinton has not campaigned in South Carolina, choosing instead to visit California, New York, Arkansas, and New Jersey over the week.  Bill Clinton has worked South Carolina on his wife's behalf.

Here is the actual poll and the results:

Clintons scorched earth in South Carolina (Todd Smyth - 1/23/2008 3:03:34 PM)
The Clintons are in full Rove tilt with push-polls, smearmails and poisoned well tactics desiged to reduce the turn out in SC.  They are creating a real backlash that could ruin Democratic chances in November and they don't seem to care.
