Log Cabin Republican Leader Blasts Bob Marshall

Del. Bob Marshall's candidacy for U.S. Senate is not going over too well with Log Cabin Republicans, according to a report in the Washington Blade:

"He's just, I think, an awful person and just an embarrassment to the Republican Party and I think a lot of elected legislators feel the same way," said David Lampo, vice president of the Virginia Log Cabin Republicans.

[...]

Lampo derided Marshall for his anti-gay and other positions.

"He is clearly, I think, at odds with the core Republican principles of limited government and personal freedom - no matter how he tries to spin his positions," he said.

Lampo said Marshall comes from the "theocrat wing of the party" to which the Log Cabin Republicans are opposed.

That pretty much sums it up about the man we like to call "Sideshow Bob" (for his repeated, outlandish comments and behavior). Yeah, this is the same guy who said that said that women who use contraception are "chemical love canals for frat house playboys." An "embarrassment" is right...except maybe in the "theocrat wing" of the Virginia Republican Party?

This reminds (KathyinBlacksburg - 1/19/2008 6:14:48 PM)
of how delicious it will be when we all unleash our collective keyboards on the GOP failed politicians in VA and nationally (as in any day now).

Deliver us in 2009 from the craziness of Sideshow Bob, Taliban Bob, and  (we need a nickname --contest anyone?) for Morgan Griffith.  Virginians deserve a break from these guys.  Reading the list of non-accomplishments for this past week is one more reason we need BIG change in Richmond.  They can't do  much to save their lives.

All the back and forth about Obama and his statement about Reagan really got me getting back into the swim of it.  So, now I am actually glad Obama said it (again, I think he was taken out of context, though).

No more rewriting of history.  The GOP has failed Americans for most of the terms since 1968.  The Reagan "legacy" was largely a creation of big media.  Now, even big media can window-dress the muddy pig.  And it's time for them (most of them) to go.
