The Virginian-Pilot reports:

In an 13-9 party line vote Friday morning, the House Militia, Police and Public Safety committee voted against HB745 which would require all gun show sales - even those between private individuals - to be subject to buyer background checks.

Another example of moving Hot Topic up to avoid the Citizen Lobby Day efforts on the 21st.
my favorite quote:

Opponents of the bill have noted that the Virginia Tech gunman did not use the loophole to purchase his guns. He bought the weapons from businesses and passed background checks.

As if we're supposed to wait for another massacre when we can prove a madman got a gun from an individual or gun show?

The vote on SB 109 to Wednesday, but had the hearing yesterday. Senator Cuccinelli wasn't even in the room for half of the arguments.
