Tropical Storm Gamma

OK, this is getting ridiculous.  First, we use up all the names for Hurricanes and are forced to turn to the Greek alphabet.  Now, we're actually starting to use up THAT list of names as well.  According to Reuters:

Tropical Storm Gamma, a record 24th cyclone in an Atlantic hurricane season that has barely paused for breath, formed off the coast of Honduras on Friday and was expected to curve toward south Florida by the beginning of next week.

[...]

The storm was not expected to reach hurricane strength, but its projected path would follow that of Hurricane Wilma, which left 6.5 million people without electricity in south Florida after coming ashore on the state's lower Gulf coast Oct. 24.

Is it just me, or has this hurricane season gotten completely ridiculous at this point?  I mean, what next, are we going to be forced to use the Cyrillic alphabet to name these things?  Hebrew?  Arabic?  Aramaic?  Are we going to have blizzards and hurricanes happening at the same time this year?  Should we just evacuate the Gulf Coast and the state of Florida?

I don't know about you, but I've had about enough hurricanes at this point.  Unfortunately...

Hurricane experts say intensified storm activity is expected to continue in the Atlantic for up to 20 more years because of a natural swing in climatic conditions. Global warming may also be increasing the average intensity of storms, some climatologists say.

In other words, it's time to brush up on Cyrillic!
