Below is a letter that appeared today in the Potomac News in response to letters from Corey Stewart's top aide and a disgraced former school board candidate that criticized the Democratic Party despite their many successes.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Potomac News

Recently this paper printed two letters that portrayed the Prince William County Democratic Party in a negative light.

One letter was written by the top aide to the highest ranking Republican official in the county and the other by an individual whose credibility was called into question by the Washington Post and this paper. A reasonable reader would question the true motives behind these letters.

Let me highlight some of the exciting accomplishments the Prince William Democratic Committee has made over the past few months.

The committee launched a new Web site, created an internship program that saw participation from high school students across the county and from college students on their summer breaks (from college), an increase in Democratic performance throughout the county in the 2007 election results and the recruitment of nearly 2,000 volunteers to participate in numerous campaigns.

For the first time in 12 years, Democrats picked up several elected offices previously held by Republicans, while at the same time successfully defending all Democratically-held incumbent offices.

Some of the committee's goals for the next two years include: significant grassroots organizing activities, expanded community outreach efforts, continued participation by youth in the political process and extension of Democratic electoral victories in Prince William County. Democrats will take back the 10th and 11th Congressional District seats and the county will vote for the Democratic presidential candidate this year.

The Democratic party is and will always be the big-tent party. We welcome everyone, cherish diversity and encourage debate. In the past week alone, we picked up a dozen volunteers. This is in sharp contrast to our counterparts in the county who have a history of removing their members, including former Supervisor Ruth Griggs, when they dared to differ with party officials.

As an individual in my 20's and as a Young Democrat, I can tell you that the enthusiasm I see for the Democratic Party is unmatched. We are the party of hope, the party of change and I welcome every Prince William County resident concerned about their community to join us. The PWC Committee of 100 has an excellent Transpo panel Thursday (Used2Bneutral - 1/15/2008 11:23:22 AM)
I will be taping it and putting it up on Google afterward, but it should be a good activity considering the participating groups they have scheduled....

Activies like these help the Dems by keeping the facts accurate and NOT emotional-only like the immigration jerks have done.

OBTW, GREAT Letter !!!!
