Support from Kentucky

This past election cycle, Virginia was fortunate enough to have some folks from Kentucky who wanted to come down and help us elect Tim Kaine.  On the Saturday before the election, a group of us knocked on about 1,500 doors in Dickenson County.

In all, we ended up having seven Kentucky Democrats, the Chairman of the Dickenson County Democratic Committee, Danny Edwards, and me.

Included in the Kentucky delegation were Attorney General Greg Stumbo (pictured), Chairman of the Kentucky Democratic Party, Jerry Lundergan and his wife, and four members of the Kentucky Young Democrats.

They all, including Attorney General Stumbo and Chairman Lundergan, worked extremely hard.  In fact, I think I saw Chairman Lundergan jogging between houses.  My first thought was that Attorney General Stumbo and Chairman Lundergan would drop in, knock on a few doors, and head back to Kentucky.  To the contrary, they were campaigning circles around us younger folks.

The event ended up being a great experience and was an excellent opportunity to work with our Democratic neighbors to help elect Tim Kaine.
