Creigh has released the following statement:

Dear Friend:

Thank you for all your support over the last year. This campaign for Attorney General has been a true adventure for me, where I was able to meet the people of this great Commonwealth and talk about issues that will affect the safety and security for our families and our children. I am proud of the race that we ran together.

And, it is a close race; in fact, it is the closest statewide election in the history of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The election still remains in doubt and we are waiting for all the votes to be counted--fairly and accurately--before we know who will be the next Attorney General.

At this time, unofficial results show that 410 [EDIT BY SAM: 341] votes separate me and my opponent. The State Board will meet on November 28 to certify the results. It's so close that a recount is inevitable. With that in mind, I have turned over the responsibilities of chairing the recount effort to my good friend, Larry Framme, so that I may concentrate on preparing to be the next Attorney General.

As we know more, we will keep you updated on this website. Please know that all your hard work and support has meant so much to me. I look forward to thanking you in person.

Sincerely,
R. Creigh Deeds
