Bullitics - A Great New Poll Tool

Well, it's still in development but looks to be very promising - a leap forward in online polling.  Here's what the developers have to say:
Bullitics - tell the world what you really think! Bullitics invites you to participate in polls with non-absolute responses. You can allocate a portion of your response to multiple possible answers. If you change your opinion, just come back and alter your allocations. Bullitics reports on the current aggregate snapshot of society's pulse and on how opinions are changing.

Try it right here

Details about how to vote, and often you can vote, are listed below.  We encourage everyone to give this a shot (well, more than one actually - see below) and let us know what you think.  Please note that results will not be immediately available (more on this below as well).
How To Vote
Simply drag the points around the pie-gauge to see how Trendency enables a finer grain of information on the sentiments of poll participants. Each time a participant wishes to record their sentiments, they will be presented with their last recorded vote, which they can then change or keep the same as the submit anew.

Start by finding the circle points around the edge of the pie.   Drag it to your new allocation.

All points stop at the top, so if you have three or more choices, and you want the middle one at 100%, drag each circle on each side to the top on their respective sides.

I Can Vote Again?
Yes! You can change your allocations as many times as you want. In fact, we encourage it! Come back whenever you like and tell us how you feel right at that moment.

When do we see the results?
Results will be accumulated through the day and are expected to be available at 9pm EST on Jan. 5, at which time, users are encouraged to come back and see the results.  The Democratic debate will be going on at that time too. Keep coming back to alter your answer allocations and for news on results and Bullitics related news.

A final word from the developers:

Bullitics is in alpha release. Please, feel free to post the polls in your blogs, social profiles, and websites, or wherever else you like by simply copying and pasting the HTML you can find in the box beneath the poll question on www.bullitics.com. Thank you for being part of the Bullitics crowd!

Why no dot (Teddy - 1/5/2008 7:13:38 PM)
to move Hillary's share against "none" instead of only against Obama? The lack makes you start with Hillary and go clockwise around in order to manipulate the final pie-shares as you wish. Was that the original rationale? Would the results turn out differently if the anchor spot was Edwards or Obama instead of Hillary? I ask that because of the well-known fact that the sequence in which questions are asked often is seen as influencing the way they are answered.

Excellent question (Eric - 1/5/2008 7:29:08 PM)
I don't have an answer for you because this isn't our product.  Hopefully we'll hear from the owners on this one.

Even worse (Jim W - 1/5/2008 9:19:13 PM)
I started with Edwards and found that I had to start with none to get the wedges right.

Interface upgrades (bullitics - 1/6/2008 10:26:01 AM)
Jim  -- we will have some interface updates, so that this should not be an issue... should be done in the next couple of days.  Check back www.bullitics.com periodically.  Lots of changes/upgrades coming this week.

Answer to Why no Dot (bullitics - 1/6/2008 10:21:59 AM)
Teddy -- Great question.  Let me start by saying that this is just an alpha product to get some results and see how people interact with the product. Thanks to RK, we have gotten some valuable suggestions.  We will be making changes in the coming weeks, to reflect improvements and many other benefits to this new type of polling.

That said; to your specific answer:  In our next iteration we will do 2 things that address that issue (1) your results will be recorder, so that you can alter your previous iteration, and not the default setting (as it's set up in this alpha version), and (2) we may "randomize" the order of the answer options, so that every time one logs in, the distribution is different, normalizing for that "sequence"-bias you refer too.  If you have any other questions, please comment back :)

Thanks
-R.Rossello (Bullitics)

What happened to the results that were promised for yesterday ? (Tom Counts - 1/6/2008 11:27:09 AM)

The Bullitics logo and web site say "Beta". Why the alpha ver. here ? (Tom Counts - 1/6/2008 11:40:26 AM)

Run an experiment (Teddy - 1/6/2008 12:33:10 AM)
by setting up the circle with Hillary, then Obama, then Edwards in the anchor spot. Be interesting to see how it works.
