The Story

The Story is an exceptional candidate who is running an exceptional campaign.  He has all the gifts and more.

Obama beat Clinton among women!

Barack Obama is a progressive Democrat who found the language to run a national campaign from the very beginning.

Barack Obama is the future.  Barack Obama has brought the future to the table.  How can anyone say no all those young people?

Barack Obama is the best candidate I have ever had the opportunity to experience in the moment.  This is the candidate Democrats have been waiting for since 1968.  This is not an exaggeration.  It is my testimony.

If you don't believe now, you will soon.

Obama (OaktonResident - 1/4/2008 12:33:23 PM)
Three comments:

First, Obama appeals to red state and blue state people.  His is an American story (paraphrase from his speech:  "I have a Kenyan father and Kansan mother.  I am an American and my success could only happen in America." -- what a great statement!)

In contrast, Hillary is divisive (paraphrase from her speech: "I appeal to Democrats, progressive independents and those Republicans who have seen the light.")

Second, experience is not the be-all-end-all.  Many people view Hillary's "experience" as a negative (e.g., her 1993 health care ideas).  Obama is selling himself on his brains and he has them.

Third, Obama rang the bell for me with his genuine comments about his wife.  Need I say more.

Obama represents the spirit of America (Rebecca - 1/4/2008 12:51:59 PM)
Obama represents the hope that America represents to all people who have seen the other (Communist, Fascist, Totalitarian, Racist, etc.) systems up close.

Obama can see the world with new eyes. He has the spirit and enthusiasm of JFK. He also is a populist and great communicator who can cut to the chase without all the verbal gymastics needed by the other candidates.

One of the most needed qualities at this time is the ability to disable the Republicans us (great righeous ones) and them (nasty liberals) doctrine. That doctrine is what has kept people with common interests from coming together and fighting the real enemies. I think Obama can disable the Republicans' game plan.
