The following is a report from a friend of mine who was at Brian Moran's party today. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it...looks like a good time was had by all!

A few of Brian Moran's closest friends and family gather for an end of the year get together.  Despite the rain and chilly temperatures over 500 guests crowded into the Gadsby's Tavern and Museum in Old Towne Alexandria today to celebrate the holidays with Brian and his family.  There were several dignitaries and '08 candidates in attendance.  I not dare try to list them all for I will inevitably miss someone of importance.  I was able to catch of few of them on "film".  So please enjoy the pictures.

To add to the festive mood a group of Alexandria DEMS formed a PAC to promote Brian and had some "special" bumper stickers printed up.

More photos on the "flip."

Good TIme (novademocrat - 12/30/2007 10:21:27 PM)
I was there for a little while today and it was packed - even with the Redskins game coming on!  I think everyone had a good time and the food was delicious!

guess he doesn't want my support (teacherken - 12/30/2007 10:59:11 PM)
since I wasn't invited.

wonder what that means?

NBD - even had I been invited probably would not have come, not fighting a sinus infection.

but still . . . .

nope, no (Sui Juris - 12/30/2007 11:17:58 PM)
reindeer games for you.

Sniff sniff.

Are you joking or serious? (TennesseeBlues - 12/31/2007 11:43:35 AM)
Because this is the 2nd candidate party you have complained about not being invited to. Give me a break with the public pity party.

not complaining - as I noted, could not have come (teacherken - 12/31/2007 1:31:37 PM)
but I also note that there are some politicians who on the one hand want to solicit our support, our voices (for those of us who blog regularly), our money, then somehow seem to ignore us at other times.

I like Brian.  I wish him well.  And no, in the overall scheme of things I ain't all that important.

In a sense my comment was a bit of a snark.

Sorry you didn't read it that way.

Peace.

I assume I was invited because I donated (Catzmaw - 12/31/2007 2:13:14 PM)
to his campaign at the St. Patrick's Day party and ended up on a list of some sort.

Great Party (Catzmaw - 12/31/2007 12:23:16 PM)
And very well attended.  I met several people I haven't seen for years.  Around 3:30 the Redskins fans started breaking for the exits.  Eat it, Dallas.

The bumper sticker's already on my car.  All in all, yesterday was a good day.

Sorry I missed you (Vivian J. Paige - 12/31/2007 1:15:55 PM)
I would have loved to have met you!

You were there? (Catzmaw - 12/31/2007 2:08:08 PM)
Gosh, I kept seeing so many familiar faces, but I'm miserable at identification and often cannot place them.  If you noticed a short, gray-haired, plump woman wearing a gray jacket and white shirt over a gray skirt that was me (I?).  Whatever.

Sorry I missed you, too.

Um - yes! (Vivian J. Paige - 12/31/2007 4:27:39 PM)
That's me in the 3rd photo from the top on the left in the red jacket.

Sorry - there were so many people there that I couldn't possibly remember anyone's outfit :(

Oh for heaven's sake (Catzmaw - 1/1/2008 12:20:26 PM)
D'oh!  I was about 10 feet from you when that picture was taken.  Should have introduced myself.

Catzmaw, I was there too (AnonymousIsAWoman - 12/31/2007 6:24:12 PM)
I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you either.  I finally did meet Vivian.  You and I have to look harder to meet. Or at least, I need to know who you are; I might already know you :)

I saw you come in with Dan (Catzmaw - 1/1/2008 12:22:46 PM)
Had no idea who either of you were, but later when I spotted the union pin on his shirt I wandered right over to chat.  By that time you were somewhere else in the room.  Next time I'll know who to look for.

Sorry I missed you (Glant - 1/1/2008 6:07:21 PM)
I talked to Dan for a while, but I don't think you were nearby at that time.
