If Sen. Deeds is elected Governor, will the Dems lose the Senate? (dirtdog88 - 12/19/2007 12:37:23 AM)
Does anyone have a good feel for the district that Creigh Deeds represents? Is it a safe bet that the Democrats can hold the seat (and thus the Senate) should he be elected Governor?

I know his predecessor was a Democrat, but don't know the district well.

Given the importance of redistricting, and the fact that the Senate is probably the only reason the Democrats will have a seat at the table, the odds of retaining that seat have to factor into the equation. Bringing this up isn't really fair to Senator Deeds' ambitions for higher office, but it does matter.

Senator Deeds has worked tirelessly for Democratic candidates across the state, and has been a great Democrat and Senator. I hope someone will respond that the seat is a sure thing to remain Democratic.
