Possible Voting Irregularities in Roanoke County

Image hosted by Photobucket.comRoanoke County currently uses the AVS Winvote touch screen for election; however it is possible that the new touch screen voting machines did not work correctly.

News 7 in Roanoke has said they have received calls from numerous voters in at least FOUR voting precincts. The voters stories are all the same, they wanted to vote for Kaine but the machine kept registering their votes for Kilgore. The only information coming out Roanoke County is that the machines may have been stored incorrectly, or that it may have been user error.

Is it possible that other votes were incorrectly cast for Kilgore, Bolling or McDonnell, and the voter was unaware? If so, how many?  In Roanoke County, all three Republicans candidates won.

Stay with Raising Kaine for updates as more information becomes available.

Jen, I have felt your pain. I live in Poquoson.

I, too, had an experience here in Fairfax City. When I hit the name Tim Kaine for Gov. what lit up was Russ Potts' name. I complained and asked how to clear the screen, the attendant said "it's a very sensitive machine; to clear the screen, touch it lightly." Okay, so I'd been a might emphatic with my first jab, and I carefully and politely cleared the screen by tapping Mr. Potts VERY gently. Then I tried again, tapping Kaine lightly--- and his name lit up but so did the name of one of the candidates for 37th District simultaneously. This was getting extremely odd. After another careful, gentle, courteous try at voting I was satisfied all the correct names were lighted, and I pressed VOTE. Then I asked if the attendant could tell if the VOTE had been recorded; she peeked in the back of the machine and assured me it had registered. But I still wonder. There is no way I feel the voting is secure and accurate, and we definitely need a paper trail. I want a personal receipt for my vote, too.

I find this pretty disturbing.  Four precincts makes for a pattern.  Did we have any Democratic poll watchers in Roanoke?  Did Willie Mae try anything in Scott County or did she feel the heat of the US Attorney watching.  I hope that the election board gets to the bottom of this!
