Congratulations to Walter Tejada

I just wanted to say "congratulations" (or maybe felicidades?) to Walter Tejada. Yesterday, Tejada -- who immigrated from El Salvador at the age of 13 -- was elected chairman of the Arlington County Board.  According to the Washington Post, this "will make him the highest ranking  Latino elected official in Northern Virginia."  In stark contrast to what we see on the Prince William County board, Tejada believes in "ensur[ing] that Arlington County polices are 'inclusive and caring'" to all, including to immigrants.

Again, best wishes and good luck to Walter Tejada as the new chairman of the Arlington County Board of Supervisors!

Walter has been a great champion for not only Hispanic Americans, but for the disadvantaged across Arlington.
