John Edwards and John McCain. Edwards is the only Democrat who beats every Republican he is paired against (Huckabee by 25 percent, McCain by 8 percent, Romney by 22 percentage points and Giuliani by 9 percentage point) while McCain just barely edges out Clinton and ties Obama.

Yeh, BUT (Gordie - 12/12/2007 7:37:23 AM)
can he beat Ron Paul?

National polling (novademocrat - 12/12/2007 7:50:00 AM)
is absolute crap.

Come back when you have something real and more substantive

Agreed. (Lowell - 12/12/2007 9:05:32 AM)
This is utterly meaningless.

Let's not forget ... (TheGreenMiles - 12/12/2007 11:39:24 AM)
Howard Dean was wiping the floor with everybody four years ago this month.

I'd agree they are crap.... (MikeSizemore - 12/12/2007 1:52:14 PM)
....when looking at Primary candidates, but when they poll head to head matchups with other Republicans, then its a new ballgame.

But we don't vote as a nation... (TurnPWBlue - 12/12/2007 6:16:37 PM)
National polls are nice for front-page headlines, but that's not the way we vote.

Break this down by states and electoral votes.  Those are the numbers that matter.  As we learned (the hard way) in 2000, popular vote don't mean diddly-squat.
