4th State Senate District

Lt. Governor-Elect Bill Bolling will have to resign his seat in the State Senate before taking office in January.  A special election to replace him will then be held.  Although many pundits think of this seat as a "sefe Republican" one, a concentrated effort and the right candidate could make it a Dem. pickup.

So far, these are the only candidates that I'm aware of:
(Active candidates in bold, potential ones in italics)
Republicans:
State Delegate Ryan McDougle
Son of former Hanover County Supervisor Nina Peace Christopher Pace
Democrats:
Attorney and '01 State Delegate Nominee John Montgomery, Jr.

What are ya'lls thoughts on the race, and what have you been hearing?  Or are there any RK readers who want to run?
