With just over 3 weeks to go until the Iowa caucuses (1/3/08), there's a new poll out by Newsweek that shows Mike Huckabee and Barack Obama pulling ahead in the Hawkeye State.  Here are the results among "likely caucus-goers."

Republicans
Huckabee: 39%
Romney: 17%
Thompson: 10%
Giuliani: 9%
Paul: 8%
McCain: 6%

Democrats
Obama: 35%
Clinton: 29%
Edwards: 18%
Richardson: 9%
Biden: 4%

It's getting close enough now that these polls are starting to matter, but I'd pay more attention in another week or two.  Also, the margin of error on these polls was +/-7% for the GOP, +/-6% for the Democrats.

Roanoke College is having a democratic straw poll on Dec 7th in Pickle Lounge at the Colket Center. Come out and support your canidate. It's a great time of year to be preparing for the caucus season. It's good to have a caucus spirit along with the caucus spirit. I would appreciate anyone in the Roanoke area to help the Roanoke College democrats and Sam Rasoul for Congress. It's at 12:00 and will last for a couple with free food provided.
