Nice endorsement for Phil Forgit from Senator-elect Ralph Northam.
"I am proud to support Philip Forgit for Congress because he has shown throughout his life a true commitment to serving his community," said Dr. Northam. "As father and a pediatric neurologist, I support Philip because of his experience teaching in our schools. I know he understands what our children and our teachers need to succeed in the classroom.

"As a veteran who treated soldiers during Desert Storm, I support Philip because I know that he understands the problems we are facing in Iraq and knows what our veterans need when they come home," Dr. Northam continued. "We would all benefit by sending an honest public servant like Philip to Washington to represent our values."

Forgit thanked the crowd for their support and noted that recent polling showed this to be a highly competitive race. "I have served in Iraq and so I don't need military tutors-like my opponent has used-to tell me how to get the job done," said Forgit. "This is a real war and we need real leadership in Washington."

Naturally all Virginia Democrats "endorse" Philip Forgit, whether they say it or not, but he also got a nice shout out from our dear leader Governor Warner on his home page's blog today, check it out:

Meanwhile... (JamesL - 11/30/2007 12:37:09 AM)
...the NRCC is dumping in loads of cash on anti-Forgit expenditures, including phone banks and an attack ad coming to your TV screens soon.

Oh no, oh no, oh please no (legacyofmarshall - 11/30/2007 3:54:19 AM)
How and why must they attack a veteran and teacher.  He's never even held elected office before - what are they going to say - he raises taxes in his sleep?  I dearly hope I'm not watching tv when that comes on for my tv's sake (too many heavy yet throwable objects around the room).

Meanwhile Rob Wittman has been a bureaucrat and politician for 22 years - he's the kind of guy who never takes a strong position on anything because all he cares about is his election to higher office.

Have we come to that point in campaigns?  Where it's better to be a coward than run the risk of making a mistake?
