Analyzing the Campaign Logos

This is interesting: "Reading Tea Leaves and Campaign Logos" by the New York Times.  Here's how they stack up:

*Obama: "Too many styles and colors. The look is left undefined. The designer may have been too inexperienced."

*Hillary: "The 'I' and the 'L's all look like the number 1." "Streamer below looks as if she's already celebrating victory."

*Rudy: "Secure red border."  "Extra large 'R' to remind you just how Republican he is."

*Romney: "Icon looks like a mash-up of the logs for the New England Patriots and...the post office?"

*McCain: "Character is destiny, but this design lacks character."

*Edwards: "There may be two Americas.  But the second line of type mushes everything into one block. Unclear."

*Thompson: "Fred Thompson's campaign logo suffers from...laziness."

Does any of this matter?  I don't know, but it's entertaining if nothing else.

The Rudy sticker (thegools - 11/26/2007 6:29:05 PM)
looks a lot like Webb's Senate sticker-similar font and coloration 7 with only a slight change to the border.

...Of course I noticed.  I like Rudy's best but then I am biased-what with the Webb sticker resemblance and all.
