The Republican Advance is like an annual convention for Virginia Republicans and this year they will be holding it in Crystal City (Arlington County).

My only question is- Did they have the courtesy to invite the local elected officials? (State Senators Mary Margaret Whipple and Patsy Ticer; Delegates Bob Brink, Al Eisenberg, Adam Ebbin, and David Englin; County Board Members Mary Hynes, Walter Tejada, Jay Fisette, Chris Zimmerman, and Barbara Favola; School Board Members Libby Garvey, Abby Raphael, Frank Wilson, Sally Baird, and Ed Fendley; Clerk of the Court Paul Ferguson, Treasurer Frank O'Leary, Commissioner of Revenue Ingrid Morroy, Commonwealth's Attorney Dick Trodden , and Sheriff Beth Arthur)

I suspect not (GinterParked - 11/23/2007 8:11:33 PM)
Look,  Arlington has good hotels, good food, bartenders who pour a little more than others do, and an inspiring view which reminds those who care to look that our lives depend on the lives of others.

The bigger question is which race they'll discuss.  The Presidential race is largely out of their control.  The Senate race is bound to make them drink more.  The Governor's race... well, there's the ticket.

Who knows?

Do they really think calling it an "advance" (Lowell - 11/23/2007 8:28:28 PM)
is clever/funny?  Ohhhhh....I get it, they're not "retreating" they're "advancing." Hahahahahahahahahaha.  Clever.

Playing with words (Teddy - 11/24/2007 5:31:08 PM)
is a Republic Party mainstay, as you know, which of course is why they thought it clever to replace Retreat with Advance. To be more accurate, though, should it not be the Repulic Party Avarice instead of Advance?

Missed one... (ArlGOP - 11/24/2007 2:09:20 PM)
