It will an historical event. To quote a Loudoun official: "We have not had a Dual Presidential Primary since 1988. Dukakis was on the Democratic ballot against Bruce Babbitt and Al Gore. While on the Republican ballot George Bush ran against Bob Dole."
I can't remember which candidate I supported. I suspect that it was Al Gore as he was still then very much identified with southern politics. I can't imagine any reasons that would have allowed me to support Dukakis, even though he won the nomination, and was trounced by George HW Bush.
Just think, it's just a couple months away.
