During this year's Virginia campaign season, the true nature of certain Republican candidates, the national-level Republican Party, and the Jerry Kilgore campaign has come out clearly.  Bigoted statements and scandals galore by Republicans at local, state, and national levels. Yet Republican candidate Jerry Kilgore has been silent.  Which raises the question of the day, just 48 hours until polls open on Election Day: "Why hasn't Jerry Kilgore condemned, or at least apologized for..."

1) The homophobia and racism of 67th district Republican House of Delegates (HoD) Candidate, Chris Craddock, who said that "Africans will have sex with anything that has a pulse" and also that "Christians and gays hate and despise each other."

2) The gay baiting of Bradley Marrs, who  described an unnamed contributor to his 68th HoD district Democratic opponent, Katherine  B. Waddell, as a "wealthy homosexual businessman" active in gay-rights groups.

3) The attacks by 32nd district (Loudoun County) Republican Delegate Dick Black on a 17-year-old Ashburn girl for her play, "Offsides," about a high school football player who realizes he's gay.

(starting to sense a pattern here on gay bashing?)

4) The comments by big Kilgore supporter, Pat Robertson, that "Islam, at least at its core, teaches violence," that [homosexuals] are "self-absorbed narcissists who are willing to destroy any institution so long as they can have affirmation of their lifestyle," and who called for assassinating the President of another country?

5) The company Kilgore used to lobby for, Halliburton subsidiary KBR, for hiring and exploiting illegal immigrants?  Same thing with major Kilgore campaign contributor Smithfield Foods?

6)  The behavior of national-level Republicans, including the Bush Administration's apparent outing of covert CIA agent Valerie Plame?  The Republican Congress' interference in the case of Terry Schiavo?  Or how about the various scandals involving Tom DeLay and top Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff?

7) The Bush Administration's disgraceful "response" to Hurricane Katrina, epitomized by George Dubya crony Michael "Brownie, you're doin' a heck of a job" Brown, the self-described "fashion god?"  Or Barbara Bush's comment that Katrina refugees "were underprivileged anyway, so this is working very well for them?"

8) Kilgore's own "Hitler" ad, which brought "the Virginia Way" down to a disgraceful new low thanks to Kilgore's media man, Scott "Slime Master" Howell?  The same ad that Tim Kaine said "demonstrates a real outrageous prejudice??

9) Kilgore's own attacks on Tim Kaine's Christian faith, implying that Kaine -- a former MISSIONARY in Honduras -- only started mentioning his Catholicism when "it became politically popular?"

10) Kilgore's own interference, as Attorney General, with procuring needed DNA evidence to prove that Earl Washington - - on death row for a crime he didn't commit - was innocent?

We could go on and on, bringing up Kilgore's leniency on the meth epidemic, his role in an eavesdropping scandal, his mother's role in a fraudulent Gate City election, his phony Russ Potts mailing, the various shenanigans of his running mates (Bill "Enron of the Insurance Industry" Bolling and "Taliban Bob" McDonnnell), etc., etc.  But for now, we'll just leave you with this Top 10 list of Things that Jerry Kilgore has not Condemned (or apologized for).  As usual with Jerry Dubya Kilgore, we're not holding our breaths.
