For all the far-right wingers and Kilgore campaign officials out there who think the Washington Post is conspiring against you as part of some "vast left-wing conspiracy" or whatever, you probably should skip the following.  For everyone else, however, this is great reading, from the Post's House of Delegates endorsements for Virginia this Tuesday.  Here are some choice comments on several of our "favorite" Republican candidates:

Robert G. "Sideshow Bob" Marshall (13th District): "[Marshall]...is an ineffective lawmaker who has managed to stir things up by bashing gays, embryonic stem cell research, sex education, women's access to birth control and Gov. Mark R. Warner's 2004 tax overhaul, which helped public schools across Virginia. He loves a fight; what a shame he hasn't mustered the same passion for improving the state's clogged roads."

Richard H. "Dick" Black (32nd District): "...with his narrow focus on social issues and all-inclusive, just-say-no opposition to additional revenue-raising, [Black] has alienated most of his GOP colleagues in the House, to say nothing of the Democrats."

James Hyland (35th District):  "Incumbent Steve Shannon... recognizes as folly the free-lunch, anti-tax refrain of...Hyland."

Michael Golden (41st Distrcit): "...a hard-line anti-taxer, [Golden] suggests irresponsibly that he might consider voting to roll [Warner's 2004 tax package] back."

Dave B. Albo (42nd District): "[Albo] has moved away from his earlier moderate record, joining ranks with right-wingers in trying to torpedo the Warner tax package and waging a strident campaign against undocumented immigrants...he has abandoned important elements of his own constituency as well as the sensible middle ground."

Ron M. Grignol, Jr. (43rd District): Should be "punish[ed]" by voters for "running a sleazy campaign ripe with the stench of innuendo."

Michelle McQuiqq (51st District): "...lackluster delegate who opposed Mr. Warner's signal achievement, last year's tax overhaul."

Jeff Frederick (52nd District):  "in office just two years, [Frederick] has aligned himself with the most extreme elements of his party."

Chris Craddock (67th District): "If there were a prize for worst candidate of the season, Chris S. Craddock (R) would be a strong contender...Craddock, a 27-year-old youth minister who hates taxes, and has attributed AIDS in Africa to those who seek sex "with anything with a pulse" -- and that may not be his dumbest or most offensive pronouncement."

There's a lot more, so please read the Washington Post editorial, please help GET OUT THE VOTE for these peoples' opponents,  and please VOTE ON TUESDAY.  Thanks!
