Thanks.

See the "flip" (Lowell - 11/4/2007 1:49:13 PM)
Thanks.

Terrific speech (Catzmaw - 11/4/2007 3:01:48 PM)
I am so impressed with Senator Webb's improvement as a public speaker and his continued willingness to get out there and address the realities of the situation in the Middle East and at home.

Umm... (legacyofmarshall - 11/4/2007 5:26:42 PM)
What's Jim Webb doing in New Hampshire a few days before a major election in his home state?  Who does he think he is... George Allen?

Unless this is from his trip to NH several months ago... is it?

This was at the JJ Dinner a couple weeks ago (Lowell - 11/4/2007 9:40:11 PM)

You open up the Washington Post and there's a thesis paper on Jim Webb as a Vice Presidential choice. Can't say I've seen anything like that on anyone else in the Political world.

Then I get to read a very good piece by Mark Shields who witnesses Webb's speech in New Hampshire and pens another Vice Presidential analysis on the AUTHENTIC Jim Webb.

In both it was clear that the New Hampshire Democratic party has got it together!!  ... in asking the one man who is inspiring the Democratic Party as a whole to give a KEY JJ Dinner speech. They of course couldn't have given that marque' to any of the dozen presidential aspirants hoping to win in New Hampshire.

No ... the authentic Senator Webb gets the nod and rocks the house.

Makes the folks here at RK and the whole Draft James Webb group look like GENUISES. Way to go Mr. Webb .... keep making us proud.

If I Write My Book.... (Lee Diamond - 11/4/2007 10:24:14 PM)
One part of it could be a civics lesson about how individuals really can make a difference.

Ladies and Gentlemen... (The Grey Havens - 11/5/2007 8:47:51 AM)
The next Vice President of the United States... Jim Webb!

My prediction/hope is Wes Clark (Lowell - 11/5/2007 9:00:40 AM)
He's tanned, rested, and ready.  Plus, I still he think he should have been the Dem. nominee in 2004.

The problem with clark is that he doesn't bring anything to the election (The Grey Havens - 11/5/2007 4:41:10 PM)
He's a great candidate, he's a great presence.  He should be President already.  That said, where on the electoral map is his constituency?  HRC by herself beats anyone in Arkansas.  It'd be a great netroots move, but so would Webb, and with Webb and Warner on the ballot with HRC VA comes heavily into play, expecially if tomorrow gives us some of what we hope.

Anyway... we love Wes... he could be the best Secretary of State since Jefferson.

Very convetntional thinking (Lowell - 11/5/2007 5:13:34 PM)
Where on the electoral map did Dick Cheney help George W. Bush?  Where on the electoral map did Al Gore help Bill Clinton?  Exactly, they didn't.  The point of picking a running mate isn't to pick off a state, although obviously that would be nice, it's to: a) add to your ticket in ways that make the whole greater than the sum of the parts; and b) pick someone who can fill in for you as President and work with you in the White House as an important member of the Administration.  Clark would do both of these things extraordinarily well.
