Tom Rust: Nothing More on Transportation for a "Couple Years"

This morning in the Washington Post, Del. Tom Rust (R-Abuser Fees) continued to take credit for the transportation monstrosity that came out of Richmond this spring.  Of course, he didn't mention his co-authorship of the hated abuser fees; that would be rather inconvenient a few days before a neck-and-neck election, I suppose.  Even worse, Rust had this to say:

Those of us who have worked on this have spent 2 1/2 years working on it to get to this point, so I don't see us doing any major modification for at least a couple years.

Translation: "I hope you're happy with the abuser fees and regional authorities, because that's all you're gonna git on transportation the next "couple years," at least with people like ME in Richmond!"  Great, and we're supposed to send this bozo back to Richmond...why exactly?!?  What, for more of his fine "leadership?"  True, I suppose we could look at the bright side: at this rate, in a "couple years" traffic might not be moving at all, and Rust will just have to stay home...permanently! :)

Seriously, though, it's time for a change, and Jay Donahue IS that change.  Jay worked with AAA and knows transportation issues inside and out.  Jay will use that knowledge and experience to work with business leadership to find REAL transportation solutions, not "too-clever-by-half" gimmicks like the Rust-Albo abuser fees.  This coming Tuesday, tell Tom Rust what you think about his attitude, and given him something else to do the next "couple years" - like retirement, maybe! :)
