Republican Senators Want to Freeze Federal Pay

The Commonwealth of Virginia happens to be located right next door to Washington, D.C.  As such, it is home to offices for many federal agencies ? the Pentagon, the Patent & Trademark Office, the FDIC.  It is also home to hundreds of thousands of federal employees who commute into Washington, D.C. every day.

Given all that, I?d love to know the thoughts of Virginia's Senators and gubernatorial candidates on this bit of news:

As part of a proposal to curb government spending, a group of Republican senators has suggested halting federal pay raises next year.

So, these Republican Senators aren?t asking for sacrifice from the ultra-wealthy or from corporations.  But they sure would like that paralegal making around $40,000/year to pay more than his or her share.

(Note: the Senate bill DOES exempt law enforcement and military.  The House version is more moderate, only affecting top-level federal employees).
