Chap Petersen Goes Up on TV; Let's Help Keep Him There!!!

Want to keep Chap Petersen's ad on the air?  Please donate whatever you can right away.  Remember, Chap isn't just fighting Jeannemarie Devolites Davis, he's also fighting the entire Tom Davis political machine.  Frankly, you're never going to get a bigger bang for your buck politically than in this race.  You can also help Chap by volunteering.  Over the next two weeks, if we get out our vote, we will win, and you can help with that.

Thanks.

Chap's message (Lowell - 10/23/2007 3:35:09 PM)

Friends, Virginians, citizens of Fairfax:

Twenty-five years ago, a band called Twisted Sister had a hit called "We're Not Going to Take It!"  That's where this campaign is sitting.  For ten months, we have walked this district, meeting voters and spreading a positive message of "new leadership."  As we close in on Election Day, our spirits are high.  And we're not taking it anymore.

Our opponents have no message (except slogans they borrow from us).  On TV, it is fabrication, attack, fabrication, attack.  Their thought is that we don't have the funds to fight back.

Wrong.

Today, we are airing a TV commercial that sets the record straight.  Here it is.  My opponent doesn't want people to see it, because it exposes her State Senate term as just another "no show" job.  Apparently, she only shows up to raise Fairfax County taxes!

With every donation at www.fairfaxsenator.com, we keep this commercial on the air.  And we keep our positive message on the ground and in the mailbox.  That's the winning combination as we close in on Election Day.

Please help us keep this commercial on the air (and "no show" legislators out of the Virginia legislature).  A donation of just $250.00 buys an additional time slot.  As we prepare for Election Day, please contact kathy@fairfaxsenator.com or (703) 349-3361 to help us on Tuesday, November 6th.  And, as always, let us know how we can represent you better.

Sincerely,

Chap Petersen

Great but ... (Rob - 10/23/2007 3:37:38 PM)
... should've made a reference to her being a lobbyist.  I think an ad on that alone would be killer.

Yeah, how about we call her (Lowell - 10/23/2007 3:38:35 PM)
"Lobbyist and career politician Jeannemarie Devolites Davis"

Gov Kaine himself (Teddy - 10/23/2007 3:50:29 PM)
just delivered a robocall to me supporting Chap.
I like the ad, even though it really does mainly feature his opponent, and I regret having to go negative, even though her lies ("fabrications"?) could not be allowed to go unanswered.  I like the idea of reminding folks she's a lobbyist, I hope this identification is added to the ad (on which channel is it showing?)  By the way, I appaarently bought Chap a time slot a couple of days ago. Step up to the plate everyone, it's crunch time.

Count me in for $25! (True Blue - 10/23/2007 4:16:43 PM)
Great ad; critical, but fair.  Can you imgagine being a Virginia State Senator from Northern Virginia and skipping 22 out of 30 meeting of the Northern VA Transportation Commission including one during a vacation she took that was paid for by a developer!!!

Now that's corrupt and stupid ladies and gentlemen.

Thanks! (Lowell - 10/23/2007 4:17:20 PM)

Done! (True Blue - 10/23/2007 4:23:03 PM)
Now that was easy, using the RK ActBlue page.

Now who will match me?  Who will see my $25 and raise me $25?

GO CHAP! (jsrutstein - 10/23/2007 5:48:54 PM)
True Blue, I saw your $25 and raised you another $225!  One more running of Chap's ad is on its way!  Thanks to you for the challenge, to Lowell for RK's ActBlue page, and, of course, to my next state Senator, Chap!

Thanks, you rock! (Lowell - 10/23/2007 5:55:04 PM)

contribute to the good guys today; fight for public financing tomorrow (jsrutstein - 10/23/2007 6:55:25 PM)
It's such a shame that Chap has to spend money on expensive tv ads simply because Jeannemarie has chosen to exploit her money advantage in this way.  She ought to follow the example of her husband and just quit the race.  Not only will she do us all a favor by ensuring Chap's victory which is probably going to happen anyway, but also she could contribute what's left of her dirtier money to charity.

forgot my manners (jsrutstein - 10/23/2007 7:03:27 PM)
oops, sorry about that.  You're welcome Lowell and right back atcha.  I think one reason I neglected to be courteous is because I really do think Jeannemarie owes us for the pain and suffering she and Tom have inflicted on us, and one great way she can begin to pay us back is by easing the election of Chap.  Another excuse for my rudeness, though, is that contributing to a political campaign, even a very worthy one like Chap's, isn't really like contributing to a charity.  For one thing, unlike the extra mitzvah of anonymous charitable giving, I think it's important to publicize one's political giving in order to encourage fellow supporters of one's candidate and discourage the enemy.  For another thing, unlike a truly unrequited gift, helping Chap get elected definitely benefits me in terms of better representation in Richmond (I'd say "and beyond," but I don't want to get too excited).

I am not worthy: and you ROCK! (True Blue - 10/23/2007 7:25:31 PM)
I'm sending another $25 now; you have humbled me.

c'mon in, the water rocks (jsrutstein - 10/23/2007 7:37:29 PM)
Thanks True Blue and right back atcha to you, too.  Let's hope Chap's inspiring campaign and the evident love of our mutual admiration society encourages more to join us.

Good (jiacinto - 10/23/2007 6:26:37 PM)
I hope that they put it on Channel 9, because that's where I've seen his opponent's ads.
