Red Storm Most Definitely NOT Rising

This is entertaining if nothing else. The RedStorm PAC site that Jason Kenney developed as a rival to progressive fundraising site ActBlue is not exactly raking in the big bucks.  The PAC started with great fanfare back in September with a $7,500 loan from the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV) on August 20, 2007.  Presumably, this loan came at the encouragement of Jason's brother, RPV communications director Shaun "Mark Warner Video" Kenney.  RedStorm then proceeded to spend the majority of that money, more than $5,200, on web site development.

In comparison, Raising Kaine's ActBlue page has raised $22,891 this year, spending ZERO in website development beyond the cost (under $100 per month) of hosting for Raising Kaine.

All told, in September RedStorm PAC raised $891.70 but only gave out three contributions -- to Jeff Evans ($100), Mark Cole, ($60) and Jill Holtzman Vogel ($100).  Hilariously, Mark Cole was one of their donors as well, giving $55 to RedStorm and receiving $60. Such a deal!  Ha.

By the way, ActBlue has raised $30.5 million since 2004, including $1.5 million on the Netroots Candidates page.  Looks like RedStorm has a ways to go...

Hahahahaha! This is hilarious!

What are the Republicans even doing this year?  They used to not tolerate mass incompetence like this... but I guess those years ended when George W. Bush was elected.
