Jay Donahue Getting the Rust Out!

Months ago, when people talked to Jay Donahue (D) about his race against Del. Tom Rust (R) in the 86th house district, they called Jay courageous.  Of course, that was a backhanded compliment, almost an insult, a polite way of saying that Jay had no chance in hell against Rust.

Today, by many accounts, the Donahue-Rust race is neck and neck. Jay has done this by standing strong against the co-author of Virginia's abusive driver tax (Rust), and also by taking a stand for reasonable immigration enforcement measures.

Obviously, Jay doesn't support illegal immigration, as Rust has absurdly attempted to imply.  On the contrary, Jay supports stopping corporate employers of illegal immigration instead of looking the other way like Rust has done (hint: check out where Rust gets his money -- lots of industries that heavily employ illegal immigrants!).  In addition, Jay wants to establish a grant program to hire more inspectors to crack down on excessive occupancy.  Jay even supports reasonable 287(g) enforcement that contains training on civil liberties.

What's different (and better) about Jay is that he's taken a powerful stance against Tom Rust's rhetorical excesses, such as commercials depicting illegal immigrants hopping over fences.  That's right, This is what Jay is fighting.  Nasty.  But Jay's going to win this race by being the more ethical candidate.  Please help him do that.  Thanks.

P.S. On October 9, Jay Donahue debated Tom Rust for the first time at Equality Fairfax. Jay did a great job and clearly wont he debate.  On November 6, he's going to win the election as well!
