Absentee Voting Alert: Local Committees and the DPVA

The use of absentee voting has been "catching on" and in the past Republicans have tried to use the ability to vote absentee to their advantage.  And it appears that in Virginia they are still trying to use it to their advantage!  But we can add to our momentum by using Absentee Ballots, where we can.

In taking a look at the RPV site, they DIRECTLY link to the Absentee Ballot Application Form.  The PDF Absentee Application Form is self-explanatory and everything's there, including instructions and deadlines!!!

But on the DPVA's website, you are first taken here and then taken here.  So who do you expect might have a better chance at getting absentee ballots for their party on election day?

So what is the lesson here?  Put the PDF on your website and preferably in a prominent, easy to find place!  Too, the deadlines for absentee applications should be posted clearly on the front page.  I copied these from the Alexandria committee's website:

Deadline for mail absentee application  Tue., Oct. 30

Deadline to vote absentee in-person Sat., Nov. 3

Who may vote absentee? See here.

There's still time...

PS  To those committees who've already addressed this issue, disregard this diary (and congratulations on thinking ahead)!
