A Blue Senate. Courtesy of....Republicans?

Various right-wing blogs and activists would have you believe that the support Albert Pollard is getting from sane, common-sense Republicans is just a myth or campaign stunt. This despite the fact that Albert won 3 consecutive terms in the crimson red 99th House district. But Republicans and Independents for Pollard is no joke. The group, led by former Gov. Holton (R), former Delegates Panny Rhodes (R) and Bobby Duke  (who once worked for one of Albert's opponents), presented the campaign with a $20,000 check from 150 different donors.

"Mr. Duke, the group's Treasurer, said, "When Albert served in the General Assembly, he put aside the fact that I had worked for his defeat and helped me with a constituent request.  Whether it is working on policy or helping a constituent, playing party politics doesn't solve problems and Albert understands this."

Having Pollard win... (elevandoski - 10/9/2007 9:25:21 AM)
is not only a win for Democrats, but a win for Virginia's environment. I can almost see them now... Senators Mary Margaret Whipple, Albert Pollard and Ralph Northam - now we're talking good economic sense that works with the environment not against it!
