what are their parties?

i'm a brand-new virginian, just moved to norfolk. my neighborhood is papered with candidates for delegate and senate; local tv has a number of commercials, so i have cleverly deduced that we have an election coming up.
here's the thing: no candidate whose message i have been exposed to so far has said what party he/she belongs to. is this a local thing? i've never seen anything like it before and i've lived all over the place.
i can see why a republican might not want to identify with the party that loves the bomb and hates poor children, but what's going on with the democrats? i assume some are running, but which ones are they?
this is important to me, because i have come to a place in my life where i would probably not vote for jesus if he were running as a republican--something pretty hard to imagine anyway. in my opinion, no matter how the locals try to separate themselves from that amoral, dishonorable moron in the white house and the fascist cabal running this country, they are the people who have his back. so i don't care how nice they are personally, or how winsome their blonde little children are, they will never get my vote. never, never, never. ever!

DPVA-DNC Contact in Hampton Roads (joe8track - 10/8/2007 1:49:52 PM)
Welcome to Virginia!

I grew up in Norfolk and now live in Northern Virginia.

I have a Democratic Party of Virginia-DNC counterpart who lives in Virginia Beach. Her name is Susan Mariner.

Her contact information can be found on the DPVA website.

We've got a really important State Senate race in Norfolk with a great Democratic candidate - Ralph Northam.

Also, if you happen to live on the Northside between Willoughby Spit and the Airport please support Delegate Paula Miller in the 87th District. She represents my parents in the House of Delegates!

Take care,

Just wanted to mention that tomorrow the 9th is the last day to register to vote in this year's election on Nov. 6th.

Cheers
