Another Unethical Republican: Watkins Abbitt

This negative attack mailer on Connie Brennan, a Democrat running for delegate from Virginia's 59th district, is (sadly) par for the course these days among Virginia Republican candidates.  A "400% tax increase?"  Yeah, I guess it's 400% if it goes from $1 to $5, or $2 to $10.  But something tells me that an $8 per tax bill increase isn't going to bankrupt any small businesses in Nelson County.

More to the point, let's not let this slimeball ad go unanswered.  To help Connie Brennan, please click here. Thanks.

To counter this slime-ball advertising that Abbitt is putting out there.

To make matters worse, the picture used above is from Alaska.

This is a stock photo of a trading post in Alaska. Does Watkins not know of a place to take a picture in Virginia?

Help Connie Win!

And beat back this GOP slur campaign.

Watkins is running scared (msnook - 10/1/2007 12:20:20 PM)
because he knows Connie has a great record on taxes. She's never raised property taxes, and still she was able to expand health care for Seniors and Children, attract new businesses to the area, and modernize all school facilities.

God forbid the General Assembly should find a way to increase revenue without raising taxes! Connie's been great at that on the Board of Supervisors, and the last time the Republican House of Delegates tried to do it, they ended up foisting Abusive Driver Fees on us.

We need a new approach, and although Watkins will try to use the same old lines against Connie, it's only because he knows that Connie's brand of Practical Progressivism (and Jim Webb's, and Mark Warner's, and Tim Kaine's) is catching on in rural Virginia.

I work for Connie, but on the blogs, I speak for myself.
