Three Men and an Election

How busy has Carlos Del Toro been this week? Well for one thing, he held TWO major fundraisers on Monday alone. First, lunch in Vienna with a former Governor by the name of Mark Warner. Then later in DC with a U.S. Senator, James Webb. Some of you may have heard of him as well.

And in case you've become a little jaded at the concept of donating money to a candidate, and ask yourself, "What's the difference?" Here's a great rundown, from the Del Toro campaign, of where that money goes and what you're actually paying for:

--$50 pays for a canvasser to knock on 100 doors with 100 pieces of literature.

--$100 pays for all the food and water for a weekend full of volunteers.

--$200 pays for an entire precinct full of yard signs.

--$500 pays for 1,000 more pieces of mail so voters know where Cmdr. Del Toro stands on the issues.

Thank you to all who attended these events! (FxbAmy - 9/29/2007 1:05:16 PM)
Carlos would like to extend his gratitude to Governor Warner, Senator Webb, and all the individuals who attended the luncheon and reception.

The support from the 88th District, the netroots and all Virginians has been tremendous. We're continuing to work hard for the last 39 days- driving to the finish. As Senator Webb pointed out, this race bears a lot in common with his own, and we all know how that turned out!
