The following is modified from a part of an email newsletter Ralph Bresler, the Chair of the James City County Democratic Committee, sent out:

Our Democratic candidates for the General Assembly, Boards of Supervisors, School Boards, and local offices are hard at work, but will need our help to win on November 6th.  Most importantly, talk to your friends and neighbors about the need to vote this year for Democrats working to keep Virginia Moving Forward. We need volunteers:

-We need people to host Meet and Greets to introduce the candidates to their friends and neighbors.

-Our candidates and committees need help canvassing the neighborhoods.  You can volunteer to walk with a candidate in your neighborhood, or wherever the candidate is working that week.  Easy to do, the candidate and assistant, or other volunteer will explain.

-Letters to the editor. We need to have a steady stream of letters submitted to the media addressing a particular theme and why the voter should Vote Democratic.  Again easy to do, and committees and candidates can help with subject matter.

-Computer skills.  Committees and candidates need volunteers who are computer savvy to work with the state party's VAN system to produce lists for walking and for mailings.

If you would be willing to help in any way, please contact your local Democratic Committee or any of our candidates directly.  Links to commitee contacts across the 1st District are posted on VirginiaDem.organd the Democratic Party of Virginia(DPVA)website   gives you quick access to information around the Commonwealth.
