Here are a few pics from Mark Warner's "pig roast" today.  There were thousands of people there, including Gov. Kaine, Del. Moran, Sen. Deeds, and many many others.  What amazed me most was that Mark Warner stood in line for hours shaking hands, and that the line never seemed to dip below 100 people or so.  This guy is amazing!

quite a few people from NoVa (teacherken - 9/15/2007 8:40:15 PM)
especially from Arlington, including our County Dem Chair, Peter Rousselot.  Also saw Joe Montano of DNC, saw but did not speak with NLS.  Had a good talk with Don McEachin.  Saw Bob Brink talking with some people.  Jerome Armstrong and Adam Connor were both present.  Susan Mariner was in attendance.

For some reason, I decided not to take out my camera, even thought it was with me.

The weather was much more pleasant than last year's rainfall.

Peace.

what a fantastic time.. (lgb30856 - 9/16/2007 10:23:29 AM)

"A powerhouse in Virginia" (Lowell - 9/17/2007 3:36:00 PM)
Interesting comments from the DSCC:

A powerhouse in Virginia

With Virginia's seat open, former Governor Mark Warner has announced his campaign for Senate.

A successful Warner bid in 2008 would give Democrats both Virginia Senate seats for the first time since 1970.  A poll released today shows Warner leading his closest contender by 19 points.

Even so, we know this race will be a battle. George Bush carried Virginia in 2004. And though Democrat Jim Webb won his Senate race last year, it was only by 8,000 votes and required the DSCC spending $6 million and committing a massive amount of time and effort.

Next year's race will be no easier, but I know we have the right candidate.
